چکیده
We discuss the macroscopic behavior of superfluid $^{3}\mathrm{He}$ phase (pair density wave phase) with a spatially modulated pair recently observed experimentally. As an order parameter we assume, based on experimental results and Landau-type model, variation function coupled to plane waves in perpendicular confinement. result find only one true Goldstone mode orbit space coupling aspects spatial modulations sample. This is predicted lead propagating sharing second sound acoustic arising from variations parameter. Due in-plane modulations, velocity first becomes anisotropic. In addition, velocities reflect static dynamic terms Fourth contrast, which also anisotropic, couples cross associated not any cross-coupling terms. Therefore measurements fourth could be used measure quite directly term. The situation studied here thus qualitatively different that suggested for supersolid $^{4}\mathrm{He}$ has solid broken translational symmetry as usual solid. spin obtain, neglecting tiny magnetic dipole interaction absence field, three pairs closely resembling planar distorted $B$ phase. Excitations presence and/or external field are investigated briefly.

Simulation of Pedestrian Dynamics with Macroscopic and Microscopic Mathematical Models
Here, we collect two parts of a research project on the pedestrian flow modeling. Rapid growth in the volume of public transport and the need for its reasonable, efficient planning have made the description and modeling of transport and pedestrian behaviors as important research topics in the past twenty years. First, we present a macroscopic model for the pedestrian flow based on continuum mec...
متن کاملModulated superfluid density in an iron-pnictide superconductor
Studies of the iron-pnictide materials have dominated the field of superconductivity for the last two years. While several different families of iron-based superconductors have been discovered, they all tend to exhibit antiferromagnetic order that gives way to superconductivity when the electron density is tuned by adjusting the chemical composition, thus leading to obvious comparisons with cop...
متن کاملSpin and pair density wave glasses
Spontaneous breaking of translational symmetry—known as ‘density wave’ order—is common in nature. However such states are strongly sensitive to impurities or other forms of frozen disorder leading to fascinating glassy phenomena. We analyze impurity effects on a particularly ubiquitous form of broken translation symmetry in solids: a Spin Density Wave (SDW) with spatially modulated magnetic ord...
متن کاملTopological pair-density-wave superconducting states.
We show that the pair-density-wave (PDW) superconducting state emergent in extended Heisenberg-Hubbard models in two-leg ladders is topological in the presence of an Ising spin symmetry and supports a Majorana zero mode (MZM) at an open boundary and at a junction with a uniform d-wave one-dimensional superconductor. Similarly to a conventional finite-momentum paired state, the order parameter o...
متن کاملThe dynamics of modulated wave trains
We investigate the dynamics of weakly-modulated nonlinear wave trains. For reaction-diffusion systems and for the complex Ginzburg–Landau equation, we establish rigorously that slowly varying modulations of wave trains are well approximated by solutions to the Burgers equation over the natural time scale. In addition to the validity of the Burgers equation, we show that the viscous shock profil...
